Insurance resources for existing gardens

We appreciate the dedication of our existing community gardeners. The city is committed to supporting you through our community gardens program, which is part of our larger LoveMyHood Greening program.

As part of this support, we provide an insurance program that empowers residents to take the lead on garden projects and ongoing maintenance.

Forms

Residents who join one of our insured community gardens will need to fill out an annual insurance form before they can begin participating in any garden activities. This can be done online, if you need support or an accessible format please connect with us by email or phone and we will be happy to support your needs.

For students and people under 18 who are participating in a garden the form can be completed online by a parent or guardian.

Community Garden Coordinators of insured gardens are required to submit monthly safety checks to the city. This can be done online.

In the event of an accident or injury at one of our insured community gardens, please file an incident report online,  as soon as possible following the incident.

If vandalism, other damage or drug paraphernalia has been found at your community garden please notify Neighbourhood Development Office staff as soon as possible, if something needs immediate attention after hours please call 519-741-2345.

If you need help or have questions, please reach out to us and we will work with you to provide the support that you need.
